Lailah Gifty Akita in one of her write-ups said and I quote “Little things done with love are much better than big things done without love…”

The team led by Mr. Gregory Azemobor, today put these words into actions by engaging in one of their numerous outreaches and spotted a widow during their Widow Empowerment Scheme program on the 14th of July, 2018.

Meet Mrs. Esther Peters a 65yrs old widow, who lost her husband a few years back (2008 to be precise), she is a petty business woman who sells plantain, banana, coconut and lime fruit at the front of her house at NO.10 Ipodo Street, Ikeja Lagos State. She uses her petty business to sustain herself and her sick son, who is diagnosed of a strange ailment.

On getting to her location after brief introduction and letting her know our purpose of visiting her, we saw the woman came alive, filled with a strange confident and was so happy that we visited her. She shared some of her challenges with the team, which are; her inability to get a roof under her head, because her room is among the rooms in the building that was mapped out for demolition, which was bought by an individual who didn’t compensate them but gave them an extension of two months to vacate the building fully. She showed us her room that was demolished and told us she doesn’t know where to go to and she solicited for support.

She also shared with the team the other challenge she is experiencing, which is that of her sick son. The team leader after listening to all her explanations admonished her never to give up and asked her to take us (the team) to where her son is lying down, of which she gladly did and the team leader in the person of Mr. Gregory Azemobor offered prayers for the son.

After the prayer session the team leader then present the cash donation of N20, 000 to the widow and admonished her to use the money which she is given to boost her petty business, so that she can make more money to cater for herself and her sick son. Mr. Gregory Azemobor also assured her that the organization will look into the matter of her not having a roof under her head, and see what they can do to support her in that regard.

He also called on many well to do Nigerians both individuals and organizations to please come to the aide of Mrs. Esther Peters and her son, let’s come together and put a roof under her head and that of her son.
